What a Montessori week includes.

Built beside Darwin Public School around big, spacious, light-filled Montessori rooms. Every Montessori class learns here, with room to move, work and play.
A gentle step, not a leap.
From 2027–28, children moving up from Montessori 3 continue into Lower Elementary for Grade I: the ICSE curriculum, taught with the same Montessori way of learning by doing, alongside familiar faces.
Visits in the final term. Montessori 3 children spend time in Grade I classrooms and meet their new teachers.
Weekly writing practice. Every Thursday, Montessori 3 children take home a short piece of written work, so the habit of writing is in place before Grade I.
Hands-on learning continues. Grade I keeps materials, group work and movement, alongside the ICSE curriculum.
No term exams. Progress in Primary is tracked through continuous assessment, so children grow without pressure.
You're kept in the loop. Guides share how your child is doing and what to expect before the move.
How old does my child need to be?
To join Montessori 1, your child must turn 3 on or before 31 July of the admission year.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Yes. Children should be toilet trained before they join. Each classroom has a caretaker to help with any accidents, and children are taught and guided to be as independent as possible.
What about food?
Montessori 1 finishes by 12 noon, so children have a snack in the morning. Montessori 2 and 3 are full-day, with a snack and lunch. There is no fixed snack time: children eat when they are hungry, gently guided by Montessori-trained adults but never forced. They learn to serve, eat and tidy up after themselves.
Is there nap time?
There is no set nap time. Children are active through the day, and a child who needs a quiet moment always has a calm corner to rest in.
My child has never been away from me. How do you settle them?
Tears in the first days are normal. We settle children gradually, stay in touch with you, and let each child take the time they need.
How many children does each guide look after?
We keep a 1:10 teacher–child ratio, so every child is known and observed closely.
